Contracting Graphic Designer/Photographer, Palo Alto, California,
August 1, 2010 - January 26, 2011
Etón designs and makes turbine crank and solar powered radios, iPod docs
and iPhone chargers. I was in charge of photographing and designing for
the showcase of 2010 and 2011 products. Product and lifestyle photography
were used in designing of catalogues, advertisements, packaging and
tradeshow booth at the CES Las Vegas Convention and at the Outdoor
Retailer Show in Utah.

Typesetting/Graphic Designer, South Taranaki, New Zealand, November 2005

Taranaki is west of New Zealand’s North Island and is the 10th largest
region of New Zealand by population. Taranaki Newspapers is a regional
paper which include a daily paper for the Taranaki Region and a weekly
paper for the township of Hawera where I was positioned. My role was to
design, produce, and archive four color and black and white advertisement,
real estate listings and special feature spreads.

An opportunity to work with writers delivering creative marketing and
publication materials on a fortnightly deadline. Worked with a collaborative
team of talented designers, copy writers and editors for magazines, white papers,
collateral, case studies, and web projects. The main body of work being designing
of magazine covers and article layout for two biweekly Dell magazines and one
quarterly IBM magazine.

and production. Projects were conceptually planned with art directors through
to quality finished product delivered on demanding deadlines. Skills acquired:
1 to 6 color pre press and press check, Photoshop layering, vector illustration,
web site design and production, booklet pagination, photography art direction
of product and portrait for brochures, create die cuts and graphics for packaging.

Worked as a part-time entry level junior designer for my father while completing
the art and design program at San Jose State University. Produced conventional
page layout and illustrations for newspapers, magazine articles and advertisements.
Operated a stat machine, a Nikon f3 film camera and darkroom techniques.
